‘Mass Effect Andromeda’ New Alien Race Introduces Organic Armor, Dressed For Success?

A new Alien race is added to "Mass Effect Andromeda'"s roster called the Kett Race. The milky way race won't have metal armor. They are the armor.

A recent update to the upcoming "Mass Effect Andromeda" game introduced the Kett race. The Kett is one of the game's antagonist, the new race is described as "foreboding but never to the point of being ugly," to enable player to empathize with the character, according to Matt Mcmillan, "Mass Effect Andromeda's" Art Director, during the recent visit of the team from GameInformer in Bioware's Montreal Studio.

The Kett race utilizes organic materials in creating their armor and architectural structures. The Kett was naked during the initial sketches of the character covered only with bone armor. However, the developers decided to put clothing into the characters to create that association or link between the Kett and the human race. The new andromeda race is designed to be unique from the milky way species since the developers need to introduce an entirely new element into the game's design. The team wanted to create something different from the sleek, clean, hard industrial look of the milky way species.

"Mass Effect Andromeda" being a new "Mass Effect" chapter needs to have this type of innovations. Bioware has put together nearly 200 developers, and the game was built across three company-owned studios, Edmonton, Montreal, and Austin. The trailer presented during N7 shows the amount of effort the company invested into this project. The two trailers are just a sneak-peak into the new open world of the new installment.

"Mass Effect Andromeda" is set for an early 2017 release. Expectations for the new game is really high. Bioware has been really quiet about the game's current status. The gaming community is keeping a close eye on the development of what could be Bioware's next masterpiece.
