Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford Affair Confirmed: Star Wars’ ‘Princess Leia’ Reveals in Tell-All Book; No Comment From ‘Hans Solo’

Forty years after the release of the "Star Wars" movie franchise, Carrie Fisher, who played the lead character "Princess Leia," admits to having an "intense" affair with Harrison Ford, the handsome drake who played "Hans Solo."

The whirlwind romance between Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford lasted for three months and happened during the filming of "Star Wars: A New Hope" in 1976. Hollywood Reporter notes that Fisher was 19 years old at that time, while Ford was 33 years old, married, and a father of two.

News of the Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford affair was revealed in a tell-all book penned by Fisher. The book is called "The Princess Diarist" an obvious reference to her role as "Princess Leia" in the highly successful "Star Wars" franchise. Besides being a leader of the rebel alliance, "Princess Leia" was also "Luke Skywalker's" twin sister. Harrison Ford's "Hans Solo" would later become "Princess Leia's" husband.

Over the years, there have been speculations about a Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford affair, but it was never confirmed until now. According to reports, Harrison Ford was given a heads up on Fisher's big tell-all. He was even given a draft of the book. "Hans Solo," however, refused to give a comment or interview as of press time.

"It was so intense. It was Hans and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend," Fisher was quoted in a PEOPLE exclusive.

The Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford affair reportedly started after a birthday party for "Star Wars" director George Lucas and eventually ran its course after filming wrapped up. Fisher recounted that their unlikely romance took her completely by surprise, but it was a time in her life that she would always remember fondly.

"I was so inexperienced, but I trusted something about him. He was kind," wrote Fisher.
