NES Classic Mini Sold Out; Alternatives For Playing NES Classic Edition Games

Nintendo announced its NES Classic Mini back in July and its retail just began Thursday last week. The NES Classic Mini, which was also referred to as the Nintendo Classic Edition, has been flying off the shelves since its launch into retail. Not even a week has gone by and reports are coming in from almost everywhere that stocks are sold out.

Fans have vented their frustrations to social media sites over not being able to get their hands on the NES Classic Mini. According to SMH, some customers who have tried to purchase the NES Classic Mini from online retailers have experienced the frustration of adding the item to their cart then realizing upon checkout that the NES Classic Mini was no longer available.

Others have even reported that online sites are crashing due to the heavy traffic it was experiencing from eager fans of Nintendo's nostalgia inducing device. With this shortage of supply, fans who have not been able to purchase the NES Classic Mini are wanting to know when the device will be made available again or whether Nintendo intended the NES Classic Mini to be a limited edition.

No word from Nintendo has been heard apart from the advice to check your local retailer. It is still unclear if stocks will be made ready for Christmas. With this huge demand for the Nintendo Classic Edition, Nintendo just might give in and produce more in time for the holidays.

In the meantime, while waiting for the NES Classic Mini to be available again, there are a lot of alternatives for playing classic NES games. Nintendo's other consoles, the Wii, the Wii U, and the 3DS, allow players to purchase these classic games through the eShop from prices ranging from $5 to $8.

For those who want the classic hardware, instead of waiting for the NES Classic Mini, you may be able to find the actual classic NES console and its cartridges from eBay. However, you must do your research well and the price might be steep.
