Nintendo Switch Price, Release Date Leaked By Toys R Us Before Nintendo’s Official Announcement?

Ahead of Nintendo's official announcement on their new console "Nintendo Switch," a price listing of the console was discovered on Toys R Us Canada's website. Nintendo intends to announce the console's release date and prices early next year.

According to BGR, Nintendo Switch price lists for $329.99 in Canada, which translates to roughly around $250 in the United States. The leaked price listing has been removed from the site.

The Verge reports that Nintendo announced a Nintendo Switch presentation in Tokyo on January 2017, which would live stream worldwide. The presentation will reveal the console's release date, price, and initial game lineup.

So far, we know a few details about the Nintendo Switch, like the how the console's controller is transformable. VentureBeat also reported that Nintendo reiterated several times that they plan the Nintendo Switch release date will be sometime in March 2017.

Nintendo also partnered with Nvidia for the Switch's video processor, so gamers can expect high-end graphics quality in Nintendo's home console. Also, the Nintendo Switch doubles up as a handheld device, playing the exact games you can play on your television to the Switch's small screen for on-the-go players.

The Nintendo Switch will have some new game exclusives during launch like a new "Mario" and "Mario Kart" game. The Nintendo Switch will also have third-party developer support and includes games like "Skyrim" and "NBA 2K," per VentureBeat.

Another feature of the Nintendo Switch is that it uses cartridge game cards like in the Nintendo 3DS and other previous Nintendo handhelds. When it comes to multiplayer, a single Switch device can be turned into a multiplayer device with both sides of the console acting as individual controllers.

The Nintendo Switch will also support wireless multiplayer, linking separate Nintendo Switch devices for more competitive multiplayer games. And like the Wii U, the Nintendo Switch might come with an Xbox One-style pro controller for more precise gaming.
