George RR Martin initially announced that he will release "The Winds of Winter" before "Game of Thrones" Season 6 but HBO's hit series is already gearing up for its seventh season and final run without "TWOW" in the bookshelves. Yes, "GoT" S6 is done but the long-awaited sixth "ASOIAF" book remains in the dark.

There are a number of speculations about the delay of "The Winds of Winter." Some think that GRRM is suffering from a writer's block. Meanwhile, other "ASOIAF" fans feel that the "TWOW" author is so busy with public appearances like conventions, guestings and book signing that he can't work on "The Winds of Winter."

In a recent report from Parent Herald, there are rumors that "The Winds of Winter" will be further delayed because GRRM is so devastated with the US Presidential election results. The "ASOIAF" author is reportedly planning to delay "TWOW" to show his protest.

Despite the different speculations surrounding the delay of "The Winds of Winter," George RR Martin admits that the fault is his because he has issues in meeting deadlines. "Look, I have always had problems with deadlines. For whatever reason, I don't respond well to them," he says in his blog.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that the wall will collapse in "Game of Thrones" Season 7 and possibly in "The Winds of Winter." Per Ecumenical News, one of Daenerys' dragons will die but the White Walkers will bring it back to life where it will breathe fire to the wall to tear it down opening Westeros to the White Walkers.
