Busy Philipps on Daughter Birdie: 'She can't Wait to be a Big Sister'

Busy Philipps' little daughter Birdie is super-excited about the prospect of becoming a big sister.

During a chat with Us Weekly, the 33-year-old "Cougar Town" actress opened up about how her 4-year-old daughter has been waiting impatiently to meet her little brother/sister, who will arrive in summer.

"She can't wait to be a big sister," Philipps told Us Weekly. "She's been asking for at least a year: When's her baby going to come?"

Apart from that, the little girl has already started communicating with her sibling.

"She talks to the baby and she's just really thrilled," Philipps explained to the magazine. "I told her though that it's okay to feel two ways about it. It's okay to feel really excited and also nervous or mad or scared. I don't want her to think she has to be super happy about it all the time because I know it's going to be . . . a big adjustment for her."

During the conversation, the proud mom also boasted of her daughter's extraordinarily skills at such a young age.

"Birdie came home the other day from school and told my husband and I the entire plot of William Shakespeare's "As You Like It," which I thought was super impressive!" the actress explained. "They're studying Shakespeare at her Montessori school. She just came home and told us the whole plot! It was hilarious to hear -- she knew all the characters' names and who dresses up like a boy and who's mad at whom! It was so adorable!"

Philipps, well-known for her supporting roles on the television series "Freaks and Geeks", tied the knot with screenwriter Mark Silverstein in 2007. Their first child, Birdie Leigh was born in 2008.

Philipps made an entry into the film world with the 2000 movie "The Smokers". Apart from that, she has appeared in many movies including "White Chicks", "Made of Honor" and "He's Just Not That Into You."
