'Snowpiercer' TV Series Starts After The Conclusion Of Film; Storyline A Complete Reboot?

"Snowpiercer" was one of the most successful movies of all time, gathering praises from the moviegoers all around the world. Now, it is going to be a full-fledged TV series as TNT promises "a world where humanity is pushed to the extreme."

TNT already ordered the premiere of "Snowpiercer" and everyone is already betting on its storyline. It was recently reported that Josh Friedman, who is known for his works in "Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles," will be heading the series while Chan-wook Park will be the executive producer.

The details of "Snowpiercer" TV series are still scarce, but if based on the 2014 film, it may be set in a chaotic setting where the global climate change is endangering the humanity, bringing about a new Ice Age that no one can survive.

"Snowpiercer" shows the last remaining survivors of the natural catastrophe, where they are situated in a train that endlessly runs in different parts of the world. The plot involves a rebellion ignited by the poorest inhabitants, who are on a mission to head to the front of the vehicle.

In the end, everyone got killed except two passengers, Yona and Timmy. As they got out from the train wreck, they saw a polar bear afar, which means that there is life on the frozen planet after all. The "Snowpiercer" TV show, according to speculators, may start with attempts to search for civilization and the possibility to develop a society from it.

There is also a chance that TNT will retell the scenes from the "Snowpiercer" movie in a slow-paced manner via an episodic format. Some believe that it is an entire reboot of the film and will be based on the 1983 French novel titled, "Le Transperceneige."
