Rock Band The Police Offered £7.3 Million To Be Part of Desert Festival 2017

The Desert Trip Festival was held last October with legendary performers like Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Neil Young. The festival sure did make the sold out crowds on fire.

Following the success of the festival, the organizers are planning to add more spice to the festival. This is to include The Police in the Desert Festival 2017, according to Mail Online.

In an article by Mirror, Andy Summers, Sting and Stewart Copland have been offered a shocking £7.3 million to have a reunion show in the Desert Festival 2017 which will be held at Indio, California.

The Police was disbanded in 1986 and they have not played together since they have reformed for a series of reunion concerts. They were offered of a deal near $9 million. Some of their hits include "Roxanne" and "Message in A Bottle."

The band reunion concerts took in years between 2007 and 2008 all over the Europe and South America. The Reunion concerts earned a reported £292 million so it would be no surprise that Desert Festival organizers would offer them a £7 million paycheck.

However, Sting who really has success in his solo career had hinted in the past that another reunion would be out of the question.

Sting quoted "It's done. Over. I thought with The Police that everything we achieved in the short amount of time we were together, in five or six years, we achieved 10-fold, 50-fold, and that artistic park has been used up." And report says that the former group has declined huge money offers for reunited concerts.

Still, fans should not worry there are also great singers that are rumored to play in the Desert Trip 2017. These are Bon Jovi, Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen. Hopefully all the rumored performers will be at the Desert Festival including The Police. Share your thought on these reunion concerts on the comment section.
