'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date, News & Update: Square Enix Releases 'KH' Games To Boost Up 'KH3?'

"Kingdom Hearts 3" has perhaps been one of the most anticipated titles of console and handheld gaming. Apparently "Kingdom Hearts" owes its success to the merging of characters from two of the biggest names in games and digital entertainment, Disney and Square Enix who has released several "KH" games before "KH3" .

The "Kingdom Hearts" universe contains familiar characters from Disney like Goofy, Donald, and the iconic Mickey. Square Enix characters are not exactly from any of the Square Enix games but bear some resemblance to characters from the "Final Fantasy" franchise. The main characters of "Kingdom Hearts" such as Sora, Riku, and Kairi have the Square Enix signature on their character designs.

Having established a loyal following over the years it is no wonder that many are awaiting the next game in the series, "Kingdom Hearts 3". "Kingdom Hearts" has released a plethora of games for the past few years on many different platforms, beginning with the PlayStation 2 up to the current gen consoles.

In the years following the release of "Kingdom Hearts 2", Square Enix has released a number of "Kingdom Hearts" games drawing the players deeper into the universe of "Kingdom Hearts" but quite close enough to "KH3". The games always left more questions than answers, that it seems all of those have simply been a marketing strategy to build up hype for the next game.

This coming January another "KH" game will be released but it will not be "Kingdom Hearts 3" yet, rather it would be "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" for the PlayStation 4. There has not been any official word from "Square Enix" as to when "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be released.

According to ChristianToday, "Kingdom Hearts 3" is however rumored to be released sometime in 2017. In the meantime, players will just have to play the in-between "Kingdom Hearts" games while waiting for the official announcement.
