NBA Latest Trade Rumors: Carmelo Anthony Joining Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James In 2017 If New York Knicks Fails To Win NBA Championship

Even though the New York Knicks had been kicking off this week, NBA trade rumors continued buzzing about Carmelo Anthony waiting in the wings to join Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017. But the trade will happen only if the New York Knicks fails to win the NBA finals this season.

Fox Sports reported that Carmelo Anthony had been ringless after many seasons with the New York Knicks. The Knicks might have a shot of getting into the playoffs this year with Derrick Rose, Kristaps Porzingis, and Joakim Noah on the roster. But Carmelo Anthony, who is entering his 14th season in the NBA, has not been happy with current state of the New York Knicks.

Reports in Sports Rageous also said that Carmelo Anthony is not comfortable with the infamous "triangle offense." New York Knicks president Phil Jackson has been pushing the "triangle offense" to the team since the start of the season. Carmelo Anthony has also been reported that he's not been eye to eye with New York Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek regarding the team's lack of defense.

Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James once told in Bleacher Report  that he loves to play alongside Carmelo Anthony in Cleveland Cavaliers before his career is over. Anthony was part of the 2008 Olympics USA Men's basketball team which means that Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James and Carmelo have been really good friends. These NBA trade rumors aren't far from happening with the kind of relationship that these players have.

However, the New York Knicks just had their third winning streak against Charlotte Hornets on Friday night. Carmelo Anthony had matched his season high of 31 points. Kristaps Porzingis on the other hand had a double-double 19 points and 11 rebounds. Porzingis continues to amaze in his second year in the league by averaging 21 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game. If the New York Knicks continue their charm this season, the dream team with Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James would probably won't happen.

Do you think the New York Knicks will be able to continue their winning streak?
