Sisters Haylie, Hillary Duff Support Each Other As Fellow Moms

Sisters Haylie and Hilary Duff are lucky to have each other. Working as kids in Hollywood is already challenging enough, but having a sister to guide and help navigate the spotlight is what Hilary, 27, thanks her older sister, Haylie, 30, for.

"It makes life a little challenging when everyone watches everything you do," Hilary told Entertainment Weekly. "To have a support system from your sister and your sister be your number one fan and advocate is really important."

Hilary recalls that her sister would usually include her in many of her activities growing up. "Being the younger sister, sometimes you get kicked to the curb, and she's always included me with her friends since the time we were little," she added.

Now older and with kids of their own, the girls remain supportive of each other and have grown even closer than ever, as they bond over raising their children. Because Hilary was the first to become a mother to Luca, 3, Haylie, who just gave birth to Ryan three months ago, turn to her for advice and help.

"Whether I just want to cry for a minute or I just need her to hold [Ryan] for a second or whatever it is, she's just there to support me in any way she can. I think that's probably been the most important thing for me so far," Haylie told People.

This special bond that the Duff girls share has inspired them to join the campaign against mommy bullying via Similac's Sisterhood Unite. The campaign provides a platform for parents to share their stories and offer support to other members.

Hilary and Haylie both admitted that, as celebrities and mothers, they are always judged by the public. Haley relayed that she was judged for the name she chose for her daughter, while Hilary said she was judged for giving birth with the help of epidural and quitting breastfeeding when Luca was seven months old.

But other mothers like them also experience being judged and bullied by the rest of society, and this is where Sisterhood Unite helps them. "Instead of focusing on the judgment that we feel from other mothers, it's giving a place for moms and dads to sound off on each other and to join in on the conversation," Haley said.

These days, apart from raising kids, the girls are busy with their separate TV careers. Hilary has a show called "Younger" on ABC Family, and Haylie is the host of "Real Girl's Kitchen" on the Cooking Channel.

When asked if Haylie might make a cameo on Hilary's show next season, the actress said that the idea would be fun, according to Yahoo.
