'Arrow' Season 5 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Stephen Amell Hints About Final Season; Crossover Event To Help Save The Show

"Arrow" has amassed positive reviews back in 2012. The series was a big hit as its first three seasons earned over 3 million viewers on average. However, the show had a very lackluster fourth season which failed to keep up the pace. Moreover. "Arrow" took a place in the back burner after the tag team of Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Marc Guggenheim are busy developing "The Flash," "Supergirl," and "Legends of Tomorrow" for The CW. It is reported that Stephen Amell hints about final season for "Arrow" season 5. Also, it does seem that a crossover is the only way to save the show.

The first trailer of the "Arrow"/"The Flash"/"Supergirl" and "Legends" crossover has been already released. It does seem, according to reports, that the makers are counting on this to bring in more viewers for the show, reported Entertainment Weekly.

According to reports, CW will be playing a special crossover event which will last for four nights long. It all begins with "Supergirl." The promo reveals that in the crossover event, fans will get to see "Arrow" season 5 star Stephen Amell sport a new crossbow.

On The CW, the special crossover event will begin today with the "Supergirl," followed by "The Flash" on Tuesday. "Arrow" will take its turn on Wednesday. The event will conclude on Thursday which will air "Legends of Tomorrow." It is expected that this massive event will bring in more viewers for "Arrow" season 5. This is one of the ways The CW is using to save the show, reported Inquisitr.

It is also reported that if the event fails to gather more viewers, then for "Arrow" the Season 5 will be the last. "We're either going to do what we do and do it well or it's the last year," Amell said. If this means something, it really means that there's no definite future for "Arrow" season 5 for now. Let's hope that the massive crossover event would help lift the show's ratings.
