Disney D23 Expo: Marvel Debuts 'Captain America: Civil War' & 'Doctor Strange' Concept Art

Marvel fans, who expected to see the trailer of the anticipated flick, "Captain America: Civil War," during the Disney D23 Expo were not disappointed because Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, revealed a new footage and trailer from the said film. However, Marvel doubled when they also introduced the concept art for "Doctor Strange," according to The Guardian

Even before the said event, there were speculations that the "Captain America: Civil War" trailer will be unveiled at the Disney D23 Expo. An earlier report from Parent Herald suggested that a teaser would be out by August at the said gathering. The rumor sprang from Disney's official statement.

In their website, Disney teased the audience what to expect in the upcoming D23 Expo, saying, "In this exclusive Hall D23 presentation, join Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn for a tour of upcoming live-action projects from these legendary film studios. A bevy of special guests will be on hand to offer a look at an unparalleled slate that includes Alice Through the Looking Glass, The Jungle Book, Marvel's Captain America: Civil War, Star Wars: The Force Awakens—-and much, much more."

Chris Evans, who played Captain America, and co-star Anthony Mackie, who played Falcon, traveled from Germany, where they were in their last week of filming, to join the convention.

According to the report, the trailer showcased the growing conflict  between the two groups lead by Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr., and Captain America. The conflict between the groups resulted to a civil war between the Avengers. The teaser revealed an action-filled battle in a crowded area with Evans, Mackie and Scarlett Johansson, who played Black Widow taking up the fight against Crossbones. Crossbones is a dreaded villain with a powerful punch, The Guardian has learned.

On the other hand, according to CinemaBlend, while "Doctor Strange" hasn't started production yet, Marvel was successful in showing the good side of the movie, especially the first look of its lead star, Benedict Cumberbatch, who will be playing the neurosurgeon, Stephen Strange and his controversial alter-ego, Sorcerer Supreme. "I can tell you that he looks exactly how you want him to look," according to the report, suggesting that the character was in his perfect look.

An earlier report from Parent Herald revealed that there were positive feedbacks about the concept art of "Doctor Strange" during the Disney press conference in Africa last month. The audience admired the looks of Cumberbatch, whom many described as "very fetching" and "menacing."

"Captain America: Civil War" will hit theaters on May 6, 2016. On the other hand, "Doctor Strange" will be released on November 4, 2016.
