Amazon Changes Its Guidelines, Puts New Limit To Customer Reviews [DETAILS HERE]

The retail giant Amazon has been doing many changes to their site rules lately to better their service and to combat false reviewers and the vendors who use them.

Early this year, Amazon has decided to file a case to those vendors who buys fake reviews. They have also enforced hard restrictions to those companies who give off products for free or big discounts in exchange for a review.

According to BBC, up until last month, reviewers could still post a review and get something in exchange for it either in a form of a big discount or get a product for free, as long as they declare it. Now a few weeks after Amazon banned merchants doing such transactions a new policy was announced and such activities are now restricted to the Amazon Vine Program where the company can get payments from the vendors.

The new rules are also designed to restrict unrelated reviews that have intentions of trashing the ratings of a particular product like the recent attempt to spread false ratings on Megyn Kelly's memoir. Amazon confirmed that they have removed hundreds of malicious reviews on Kelly's book since November 15 when it was published.

Amazon's new policy states that customers are limited to post up to five reviews per week for products that have not been purchased on the site. It also states that the company [Amazon] reserves the right to restrict reviews of certain products if they find the number of submitted reviews is suspicious.

These new rules and improvements just prove that Amazon is serious about dealing with fake reviews and will find ways to be able to serve their customers better. How do you find the new rules and guidelines? Do you agree that this will improve user experience? Does this make the site more reliable? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
