'Grand Theft Auto IV' Latest News & Update: Gets First Ever PC Patch After Six Years!

"Grand Theft Auto IV" will be getting a new patch soon. This is the first time that the game is going to be updated in the last six years. The publisher of the game, Rockstar Games, released this report.

The PC patch will enable the game to be made compatible with Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 operating systems. In the upcoming upgrade, the bugs that are reported will be fixed. Also, there will be few performance optimizations. Login servers are also included in the current patch. To be able to log onto "Grand Theft Auto IV," the players need to update the launcher.

"Grand Theft Auto IV" update also includes an added an error code WTV270. This is used to specify a problem when connecting to Windows Live Sign in Assistant or Games for Windows Live Servers. The patch also made available a Display Controller image in Controller Configuration, reported GameSpot.

A bug was brought to the notice which made completing Out of Commission mission difficult once frame rate surpasses 60fps. This was fixed in this patch. Another bug was also fixed with the Resource Usage indicator on graphics cards with more than 2GB of VRAM, reported RockStar Games.

"Grand Theft Auto IV" patch also fixed a bug that regulated settings changes when using new video cards. Another bug which was fixed was with the map crosshair to a better resolution. Also, it fixed a bug with text scrolling in Brief Menu, drawlist, crash and overflow. According to reports, the new patch also made a minor performance enhancement.

The latest series of "GTA" was not accessible to PC gamers during its release. Though it disappointed many, non-console players were made to wait until April 2015. In the current scenario, players opt to rely on the modding community for enhancing the game rather than relying on the developer.
