'Injustice 2' Release Date News & Updates: Possible Characters Revealed!

In the 15-minute teaser video for "Injustice 2" released by NetherRealm Studios, some of the game's characters have been presented. However, the trailer only featured a part of the entire roster for "Injustice 2." Nevertheless, a bunch of characters to possibly be included in the game have been mentioned in the twitter exchanges between Ed Boon and "Injustice" fans.

Comic book personalities such as Firestorm, Poison Ivy, and Darkseid have all been acknowledge by Boon as possible inclusions in "Injustice 2." Firestorm has appeared in several comic books as a "nuclear man," Poison Ivy is one of Batman's adversaries, while Darkseid is described a tyrannical ruler of of the fictional planet "Apokolips."

Additionally, Spawn, who is portrayed in the comic books as an anti-hero, is also expected to appear in "injustice 2." The comic book character has also appeared in the 1997 film "Spawn."

A twitter poll asking the audience if whether or not they want to see "Watchmen" characters in "Injustice 2" was also posted by Boon. 74% of the 20,056 participants voted yes to the question.

Currently, there are 11 characters confirmed to be in "Injustice 2" namely: Batman, Superman, Supergirl, The Flash, Harley Quinn, Gorilla Grodd, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Atrocitus, Blue Beetle, and Deadshot. Supergirl, Gorilla Grodd, Atrocitus, Blue Beetle, and Deadshot did not appear in the previous game, "Injustice: Gods Among Us."

A digital comic book series about the game's plot will also be released as publicized during the San Diego Comic-Con International. Tom Taylor is tasked to do the backstory guide.

"Injustice 2" is expected to be available in January to March 2017. The game will be released in the same timeframe as big titles such as "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and "Mass Effect: Andromeda."
