Disney's 'Moana' Maintains Number One In Box Office For Second Week; U.S. Earnings At $119M Now!

"Moana" continues to prove that it is a favorite of moviegoers as it has topped the box office for the second week in a row. The Disney animated adventure earned $28.4 million over the weekend making the total earnings for the movie in the United States at $119.9 million.

It was expected that the week after the Thanksgiving holidays would be a slow week and "Moana" did not have a lot of competitions, Variety reported. "Moana" also earned around $32 million from the rest of the world.

Aside from Moana, another Disney-affiliated flick is "Doctor Strange." The movie garnered $634.9 million and it is now in the fifth spot this week. Disney's "Doctor Strange" and "Moana," if combined, is at $4.08 billion worldwide. This marks the first time that Disney crossed its $4 billion marks. Another flick from Disney is the "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" and it is believed to bring in a lot of money. It will be slated for release in theaters this December 16.

As for the second spot in this week's box office, it is Warner Bros.' "Harry Potter" spinoff movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." This week, it made $18.5 million. In total, it has made $183.5 million, Entertainment Weekly reported. The lead stars for "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" are Eddie Redmayne, Colin Farrell, and Ezra Miller.

"Arrival" is now on the third spot with $7.3 million earnings over the weekend. The total for "Arrival" is now at $73.1 million. Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard star in this flick. It premiered on November 23.

"Allied" is at the fourth spot with $7 million and "Trolls" is on the sixth rank with $4.6 million. "Hacksaw Ridge" is number 7 with $3.4 million and "Bad Santa 2" at number 8 with $3.3 million earnings. "Incarnate" is at number 9 with $2.7 million, which fell short of the $4-$5 million expected earnings for the movie's opening. "Almost Christmas" rounds up the top 10 of this week's box office.
