‘Knack 2’ Announced! Are Two Knacks Better Than One? Or Worst?

"Knack 2" was one of the unexpected announcement during the PlayStation Experience Event. The announcement trailer showcased 2 Knacks on what seems to be on a two player coop mission with the characters showing off new moves.

"Knack 2"is scheduled for a 2017 release, the new "Knack" will feature new moves, improved couch co-op, vibrant environments, and it will also let the player drive a tank or control a robot, based on the description of the trailer. The announcement of "Knack 2" is currently generating a lot of reactions from gamers across the web, the reason being is due to its predecessor. "Knack" is a platforming game wherein the character Knack has the ability to absorb elements or relics found in throughout the game.

The first installment of the "Knack" series was groomed to become the mascot of Sony's next-gen console which is the PS4, or simply put it as the "Crash Bandicoot" of the PlayStation One. Most launch titles become best-sellers or instant classics boasting a ridiculous amount of sales together with good reviews from the critics, but "Knack" unfortunately, went on a different path.

"Knack" was criticized for its redundant gameplay, checkpoint intervals, shallow storyline, flawed execution of characters, and much more. Tom Bramwell from Eurogamer states that "Knack" isn't the kind of game you'll want to take home with your PlayStation 4. I'm all in favor of games that transport us back to the good old days of vibrant originality, but Knack simply doesn't."

SCE Japan Studio produced some of the most addicting fun-filled games on the PlayStation console. Games like the "Patapon" and "LocoRoco" series for the PlayStation Portable. "Knack 2" could contain elements of what the original "Knack" game was supposed to be and will somehow remove the bad taste left by the previous version. "Knack 2" looks good in the announcement trailer, the new installment may just become the redeemer of the "Knack" series.
