‘Moana’ Updates: Disney Music Released The Latest Clip ‘We Know The Way;’ What Is The Meaning Behind The Non-English Lyrics?

The phenomenal hit movie "Moana" featuring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson did not only entertain the moviegoers with its incredible animation visuals and plot, the movie's soundtrack has also captured the hearts of many. Fortunately for the fans who have gained the last-song-syndrome, Disney Music has recently shared a clip featuring a popular song from "Moana," "We Know the Way."

Plainly listening to the song "We Know the Way" is not enough for the fans of "Moana." Fans would be more delighted to see the outstanding visuals created by Disney Animation while listening to this particular song too. Fortunately, now, Disney Music seems to have heard the request of the fans as the studio has just released a clip featuring the song "We Know the Way" with Lin-Manuel Miranda's voice on its official Youtube account.

The music video released for "We Know the Way" showed the exciting journey of Moana and the Polynesian culture. The clip also featured the incredible skills of Disney Animation in animating water scenes.

The song "We Know the Way" contains only half English lyrics. To give the fans a clearer picture of the message of the song, Bustle took a stab in translating the song. According to the publication, the other half of the lyrics represents the Tokelauan language. Foa'i, the lead singer of the group Te Vaka and composer of the song, speaks the Tokelauan language, which comes from the tiny South Pacific island nation of Tokelau, under the New Zealand territory.

It was difficult to translate the Tokelauan lyrics of the song "We Know the Way," as the language is not popularly spoken and only a few can translate it. At the end of the report, the Tokelauan lyrics of the song appears to be talking about a similar adventure spirit depicted in the English lyrics of the song.
