‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’ to Have New Maps, Weapons, and Other Exciting New Features

Players of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" remastered version will have something to look forward to this holiday season. Next week, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" will have six new maps, bringing to 16 the total number of maps for users to explore, and a host of new features.

The best part? It's all free to download on all platforms of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" beginning December 13, GameNGuide reports.

The six new maps of the remastered "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" include Strike, Pipeline, Bloc, Wet Works, Countdown, and Showdown. Besides these, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" will have two additional game modes: Gun Game and Hardpoint.

Aside from the six new maps, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" will release a Christmas-themed new design for the original Crash map called Winter Crash, according to iDigital Times. Another Christmas-inspired map titled Genesis Holiday is also coming.

The game's creator Activision is offering new weapons for gamers as well. One of them is the Hailstorm Thunder pistol for players of "Black Ops 3" and "Infinite Warfare," featuring a glossy design and bursting capacity of three rounds.

The fun doesn't end there. Activision also has a "12 Days of Winter" promo, which will give players cool gifts every day from December 1 to January 1. All players need to do is to log on to the website of "Infinite Warfare" within that period to see what's in store.

Since being launched, the remastered version of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" has had mixed reviews in the gaming community. Rolling Stone notes that public opinion of the "Call of Duty" series, in general, has not been kind.

However, the new maps and features for "Modern Warfare" were designed to impress and are expected to make the game more exciting, Neuro Gadget reports. The experience can be a trip down memory lane for players of the original "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare," which came out in 2007.
