'Once Upon A Time' Season 5 Spoilers: Redhead Character Joins Cast, New Parallel World Revealed & More

The upcoming "Once Upon A Time" season 5 has in store a lot of surprises for its fans. New characters, places and twists will be introduced that will surely stir excitement and curiosity among its viewers. Among the new features of the show is Pixar's first Disney princess, Merida, as well as the other side of Camelot.

According to Ecumenical News, the show producer will explore the world of Camelot. The audience will be introduced to its other side, which is very different from what people know about Camelot along with its popular characters like Merlin (Elliot Knight), Guinevere (Joana Metrass) and knight Percival (Andrew Jenkins).

Moreover, the Scottish redhead princess will make her debut in "Once Upon A Time" season 5. The character will be brought to life by Amy Manson, who will give an impressive look and portrayal of the mischievous, rebellious but courageous lady.

Merida was first introduced in the fantasy-comedy film "Brave," and her fans would surely love to see her along with the fairytale legend characters.

For those wondering how Merida will fit in the story, executive producer Adam Horowitz reveals that she will cross path with Emma, who will be going through a lot in the next season. Eventually, Merida will meet the rest of the heroes and villains.

"It's certainly a part of Emma's journey as the Dark Swan and dealing with her darkness," Horowitz tells Entertainment Weekly.

"All that is tied with how we explore the world of Camelot this year. At the end of last year, Merlin was revealed to be very important to what Emma needs. Hopefully you'll see that it all ties together in a fun way... including Merida and giving you a taste of what we plan to do with Camelot," he adds.

On the other hand, there are speculations that the dreamcatcher may return after Horowitz tweeted a title spoiler for the next season.

According to Hypable, flashbacks are common in TV series, which can mean two things: never say goodbye to someone for good and be ready to learn something new. This plot and twists work well with the show.

Emma finds a dreamcatcher in Neal's apartment in the "Tallahassee" episode and uses it as a magical object without Neal knowing it. There are speculations that Emma will visit someone in the past. Eddy Kitsis describes the fifth episode as "a very Emma-centric episode." However, he adds that the construction for season 5 is different as far as flashbacks go, but he guarantees that there will be an Emma flashback in the early part of the season.

"Once Upon A Time" season 5 will premiere on Sept. 27, Sunday, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
