‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 2’ Updates: Why Is There A Baby Groot? Find Out Here!

After the successful release of the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" trailer and its wonderful feedback from its fans, Marvel has been actively giving out updates about the movie. There has been photos and a contest to get tickets to the premieres as well but the most talked about details was the character of Groot, played by actor Vin Diesel.

In an article from Movieweb, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will be bringing back the character of Groot. As we can all remember in the first franchise of the movie, Groot, sacrificed himself at the end of the movie ending up in a million pieces. Now in this story, one of Groot's twigs came to life and became a baby Groot.

Vin Diesel who is the voice behind the character of Groot is also back but this time he will be a toddler. Despite the fact that Groot has grown into a full blown stick, viewers will have to wait for Volume 3 before seeing the character again in his full form. Vin Diesel said that Hulk and Groot may clash in the

"Avengers: Infinity War" where Groot will have another growth change. The actor also mentioned while he was promoting the "Galaxy of the Guardians Vol. 2" movie trailer that Rocket Racoon and Groot is likely to have a spin-off movie of their own.

According to CNET, although baby Groot was able to charm everyone with his adorable eyes, not everyone was pleased and director Gunn had to defend the character. When asked if it was a just to up the sales of merchandise, Gunn answered that he knew people would think that, but keeping the character of baby Groot in the entire film was a creative change.

Another fan also asked the director why he had to change Groot, to which he [director Gunn] replied that Groot was evolved spiritually and the character of baby Groot still has a lot to learn, which brought a new form to the other characters of the movie.
