‘Power Rangers’ News: From TV Series To Superhero Movie To A Comic Book? Learn The Details Here

"Power Rangers" fans can't seem to get enough of this group of superheroes. The show which is based on a Japanese series and started on US TV in 1993 already had two movie versions before, "The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie" and "Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie" and a third film is set to come out in 2017. Now the most recent news about "Saban's Power Rangers" release includes a comic book sequel as well.

According to Newsarama, the Power Rangers movie is set to debut in Mar. 24, 2017 and days after that a comic book sequel will also be released. The comic book, "Power Rangers: Aftershock" is a must-have for all the fans because it will serve as a direct sequel of the third movie. This makes it different from other superhero movies which feature a comic-book tie-up but mostly featuring a prequel.

This graphic novel will have 96 pages and the writer is Ryan Parrot while the illustrator is Lucas Werneck. It will be released by Boom! Studios on Mar. 29, 2017as posted by Screen Rant. The graphic novel can be purchased for $14.99 and will feature two covers, a movie-version one and an illustrated cover by Greg Smallwood.

Some find it quite strange that the producers will choose to release a sequel in a comic book when they can create another movie out of it. Probably, the comic book sequel will be used to tie up loose ends in the movie.

"Saban's Power Rangers cast includes Naomi Scott, Kimberly Hart, Dacre Montgomery, Jason Lee Scott, Becky G, Zack Taylor, and Billy Cranston. As "Saban's Power Rangers" will be the first movie of the franchise released in the millennial year, the plot will feature the cast in a modern setting. Watch out for "Saban's Power Rangers" and its comic book sequel next year!
