'Overwatch' Latest News And Update: Lead Writer Discussed About Diversity, New Web Comic Introduced

Men, women, gorillas and robots are diverse casts which could be seen in "Overwatch" and it is said that they represent many countries in the world. It was revealed that the inspiration of making the best game was diversity.

Michael Chu the lead writer of "Overwatch" joined the Best of 2016 Stream in Gamespot. It is worth noting that "Overwatch" topped Gamespot's best game for 2016.

The lead writer said that they are inspired with all the diversity in the world. He said that the history, different cultures and different pop cultures in different places like manga, comic books and movies are the things that inspire them.

Diversity plays an important role in both Blizzard and the "Overwatch" team. Besides, Blizzard used diversity as a subject on their ongoing comic series. That story of the comic series is focused on diversity. Meanwhile, another comic has been released which is focused on Tracer. The newest comic is entitled "Reflections".

The lead writer said that they are excited about "Reflections" because they are not usually given a chance to see the personal lives of the characters. When the team talked about holiday, an idea came into their minds that it is a better opportunity for them to see those characters away from the battlefield and be able to see their friends, families and loved ones. It makes them see a slightly different setting.

However, it was pointed out that "Reflections" will not be read by Russian readers. The comic is not available on their region in compliance with Russian Law. "Reflections" will not be shared with players on the territory of Russian federation. Blizzard decided not to publish "Reflections" in Russia because of the climate and legal feedback according to Eurogamer.

Any gay propaganda in Russia is considered illegal and "Reflections" is about Tracer's holiday adventures with some smooching with her partner Emily.  It is not the only video game that has been banned by Russia as they recently banned "FIFA 17" after EA sports offers rainbow for players.
