The powerful team-up of "La La Land" director Damien Chazelle and star Ryan Gosling is reportedly happening again in the upcoming Neil Armstrong's biopic "First Man" for Universal Pictures. It seems that the upcoming movie is bound to gain nominations from various award-winning bodies too.
Recent reports have announced that Ryan Gosling has been confirmed to do the lead role for "First Man." Variety claims that sources have revealed that the actor has signed up the deal to do the biopic and filming will most likely start early this 2017.
Fans can expect an award winning piece again as the brains and stars doing the project have all been recognized with their respective skills. Aside from the Oscar-nominated director and Best Actor awardee from multiple award-giving bodies, "First Man" was also written by an Oscar awardee scriptwriter Josh Singer.
Universal Pictures' Neil Armstrong's Biopic "First Man" is a movie adaptation of James Hansen's biography "First Man: A Life Of Neil A. Armstrong." It revolves around the journey of the first astronaut via NASA's mission to step into the moon. The movie will feature the sacrifices and what it has cost Armstrong and America when he took one of the most dangerous missions in space.
The movie will explore the plot when Neil Armstrong journeyed and landed on the moon, hailing him as the first man to ever step on the grounds of the moon. Armstrong joined the Apollo 11 lunar mission and stepped on the moon on July 21, 1969. Fans can expect the movie to have a setting in this 1960's era.
Meanwhile, the upcoming biopic is not the first attempt to film the phenomenal space mission. Warner Brothers and Clint Eastwood have acquired filming rights in 2003, but were not able to do the project until now, Movie News Guide noted.
The upcoming "First Man" will most likely highlight Neil Armstrong's iconic quote, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
