‘Jumanji 2017’ Is Not A Remake But A Continuation; Plot Features 4 Teens Sucked In A Game Of Locating Jewels?

The upcoming untitled "Jumanji 2017" has been speculated to be a remake, but reports now clarify that the new movie will not be a reboot but a continuation. Jack Black talked about the new movie while spoilers have dropped the storyline too.

In an interview with TMZ, Jack Black admitted he is not sure of the final title for the "Jumanji" movie they are currently making. However, the actor confidently stated that the late comedian Robin Williams will be proud of the new movie. Black explained that although Williams had left a big shoe for them to fill in, he can assure the fans that they have made a good job in the new "Jumanji" film.

Furthermore, Black teased that the new movie will not be the same as the original. However, the actor did not drop any hint about the synopsis for the upcoming movie.

Fans can recall that the original "Jumanji" movie revolved around the plot where Alan Parish (Robin Williams) became a young kid when he got stuck in the game and was only freed to return to his original state when a new player opened the game again.

Meanwhile, Jeff Sneider, a reporter from Mashable, took to his Twitter account the alleged plot for the upcoming "Jumanji." According to the tweet, the new movie will feature four teenagers who are in detention. The four teens will also be sucked into the game where they will transform into various Avatar forms. The tweet also mentioned that in the game, the teens will be tasked to find a jewel.

Furthermore, in the same tweet, it was also mentioned in the comments that Black is speculated to be portraying a female avatar. Jeff Sneider then confirmed that is what he knows too.

In another report, the synopsis of the movie details that the four teenagers will play the following characters in the game: Spencer will turn out to be a brave explorer (Dwayne Johnson); Fridge will become a tiny genius (Kevin Hart), sassy girl Bethany turns into a bookworm professor (Jack Black) and weakling Martha becomes an amazon-like warrior (Karen Gillan), Den of Geek has noted. The untitled film is scheduled to hit the theaters on Dec. 22.
