'Pet' Did Not Do So Well With Critics; Considered One Of The Worst Horror Flick Of 2016?

December 2016 saw a good number of horror flicks. It was rather ironic as horror is not fitting for this Yuletide season, but still, flicks were shown. Moviegoers were treated to good ones and there were also the not-so-good ones where, unfortunately, the movie "Pet" belongs.

The movie "Pet" was shown in the same month as Portuguese-movie "The Eyes of my Mother" which had very good reviews from both critics and moviegoers alike. However, the former failed to do so.

The movie according to Movie Insider, revolves around the life of a lonely and twisted man named Seth who works for an animal shelter. He then met a lady he is attracted to back in the days and tried his best to win her attention.

An unfortunate incident happened in the restaurant where the lady named Holly turned him down and didn't accept the flowers he gave her. Overwhelmed with rejection, his obsession with the waitress grew even stronger.

He then kidnapped her. The poor lady awoke inside a cage in the basement of an animal shelter where Seth works. This is when Holly tries her best to play with Seth's unstable emotion as her way to eventually escape. This is the start of the psychological battle which the movie "Pet" presents.

Unfortunately, according to Rotten Tomatoes, the movie didn't do so well with a ranking of only 45 percent. This is considered on the lower ranks. Fortunately for the movie, there were others which fared even worse than its ranking so it's not all that bad, but still not good enough.

The movie "Pet" stars Dominic Monaghan as Seth, the twisted and lonely animal-shelter man. He is also joined by Ksenia Solo as Holly, the waitress and object of Seth's obsession. Other actors are Jenette McCurdy as Claire, Janet Song as Mrs. Gundy, Da'Vone McDonald, Nathan Parsons, and many more.

The movie also returned 39 percent of viewers saying they liked it. This is again, one of the lowest from all the movies that were released for Dec. 2016. However low, there are still movie critics who liked the movie. The movie critic Nick Wolf is one of those who raved about the movie seen below.
