'The Summoning' Is A Good Horror Film Based On Hauntings Around Sugar Land, Texas

Watching a thriller film is a good way to start the new year. Thriller films bring the expected fright, thump, and bone-chilling scenes. Sometimes these scenes can go on haunting moviegoers even after the movie. The movie "The Summoning" aims to deliver the same effect as the other great thriller films shown.

The movie revolves around the life of a law student Rachel Iverson who places her life in danger while investigating the disappearance of another law student Clayton Ward. She is assisted by Detective Jonathan Silva to her case as assigned by Chief Lubbock according to Movie Insider.

The thriller "The Summoning" is based on the hauntings around Sugar Land, Texas who have seen a lot of harrowing scenes of punishment, persecution, murder, and death relating to unfair treatment back in the slave days. The hauntings are believed to be caused by the tormented souls from the slavery era.

It is also important to note that there were reported eerie presence during the production of the film. This particularly happened as scenes were shot in the infamous haunted sites of Sugar Company Refinery and the Richmond Police Department. This adds to the total feel of the movie as some scenes prove to be genuine and realistic based on the cast and crew's experience on set.

The movie "The Summoning" stars Eric Roberts as Chief Lubbock, Leila Almas as Rachel Iverson (the law student), and Jaime Zevallos as Detective Jonathan Silva. They are also joined by others actors like Razaaq Adoti as Mills, Rheagan Wallace as Anna, Aaron Perilo as Junior Ferguson, Todd Jenkins as the killer, and many more.

The movie "The Summoning" will have its limited release in selected theaters Jan. 10, 2017. Official word on its nationwide release has not been officially made yet. As it premieres, moviegoers will have the opportunity to critique the film, if it is a good thriller movie to start the year or not.
