Katie Holmes Shares Parenting Hacks For Suri, Reveals Daughter Is The Most Important Thing To Her Right Now

Katie Holmes talked about parenting her 10-year-old daughter Suri Cruise, whom she shares with Tom Cruise. In her latest interview, she talked about Suri being the most important thing to her and her goal to give her daughter a stable and innocent childhood.

Holmes graced the cover of Town & Country magazine and in her cover interview, the 38-year-old actress said she wants to shift her career towards directing in order to protect the future of her daughter. Holmes told the magazine that the entertainment business is so unstable and artists never really know where they are going to be, Us Weekly shared.

"The thing about directing is I can say I have this window and that's when we're getting it done," Holmes said. "My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now." Holmes added it is important that she is present in her daughter's life right now in order for her to have a stable and innocent childhood.

Holmes also said she is thankful for being in the industry but there is nothing in the world that is better than watching her child succeed. She also said it is more difficult now since her girl is slowly transitioning to a teen noting every day her child gets a little further away from her. Although her daughter's transition to be more independent is a positive thing, it breaks her heart because she wants her daughter to stay with her forever, Refinery 29 reported.

Aside from talking about her daughter, Holmes also discussed her Jackie Kennedy Onassis role in the new TV miniseries. She said she can relate to the former first lady's journey to being a single mom after John F. Kennedy was assassinated. She said undergoing through something that is private but is public at the same time is difficult.

Holmes did not talk about her romantic relationship. It is rumored she and Jamie Foxx are dating.
