'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Spoilers: Andrew Lincoln Leaving the Show? Rep Says 'Not True'

Are Rick Grimes' days numbered on "The Walking Dead"?

Rumors have been circulating that Andrew Lincoln, who plays the show's lead character Rick Grimes, is deadset on quitting the series. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the actor is feeling the pressure of work and it's starting to affect his relationship with his family. "The actor is tired of dragging his wife and two kids from their native England to Georgia where the show shoots, so he is planning his exit," a source apparently told OK! Magazine

Andrew, who has been married to Gael Anderson since 2006, resides in England, but filming for "The Walking Dead" takes place more than half the time of the year in Atlanta.  The only problem with the actor's plans is that his character remains alive throughout the story, which is based on a comic book series.

"Killing him off seems absurd, but so does the thought of recasting the key role this many seasons in to the show," the source also said.

What further fueled the rumor was when series creator Robert Kirkman revealed that Rick Grimes could've died early on.

"I honestly considered killing Rick in issue 6 and making the comic about Carl having to grow up with this guy he saw kill his father. But in the end, I decided against it. That was never the plan, but it was a thought that popped up that I entertained while I was writing issue 6," said Kirkman in a Reddit AMA forum.

But representatives of the actor have confirmed via Gossip Cop that there are no plans for Andrew to depart the series. The rep told the news outlet, there is "no truth" to the rumors.

Meanwhile, tension seems to be brewing between Rick and his old friend Morgan (Lennie James) when "The Walking Dead" returns for a new run in October. Based on the latest photos circulating, it looks like the former allies are not in good terms, according to Hollywood Life.

If fans may recall, Rick and Morgan met up in the earliest part of the series, when they still didn't have any clue as to what is really happening around them. Rick decided to leave the county to look for help and other survivors, but Morgan chose to stay behind. They promised they will soon catch up with each other at a better time. That time is happening in the sixth season. But what could the reason be for the animosity?

Catch "The Walking Dead's" return on Oct. 11 on AMC.
