Joey Feek Dies At 40 After Battling Cancer; Her Journey Will Make You Breakdown & Cry

Country singer, Joey Feek died on March 4 around 2:30 PM in her hometown in Alexandria, Indiana. She was 40 years old and was surround by her loved ones, as she left the world with bravery and grace after battling from a terminal cancer.

Joey Feek was half the duo of the known country and gospel band, Joey + Rory. Her husband, Rory, started to document her journey on his blog "This Life I Live" from when she was diagnosed with a malignant cancer on her cervix back in May of 2014. Since then, a lot of people have followed her story and it even became more heartwrenching when Rory wrote that she stopped responding to treatments. She has 3 daughters and her youngest is now two years old. Her name is Indiana and she has Down syndrome.

Joey's goal was to at least make it to Indiana's second birthday and she was glad to be able to make it. She even witnessed another milestone of her daughter in which she spoke her first word and it was "Mama." It was heartbreaking to read Rory's blog with all his updates about his wife battling with the said disease and his last post definitely made a lot of people shed buckets of tears.

Rory opened his latest update on Friday with, "My wife's greatest dream came true today. She is in heaven." He explained on the blog that although it was really sad for them to see her go, he knew that it is something that needs to happen because his wife has gone through a lot of pain already from cancer and resting from all that pain by falling asleep forever seems to no longer be optional.

People Magazine also featured Rory's blog post about the final hours of Joey. He and his family decided to go back on the road and continue to live life, as it is something that Joey wants for them to do as well.

Rest in peace Joey Feek. You were one tough and beautiful soul to have walked on earth.
