'Westworld' Actress Evan Rachel Wood Moves From LA To Nashville So Son Grows Up 'Somewhere Normal'

"Westworld" actress Evan Rachel Wood loves Los Angeles but when she became a mom, she made the choice to uproot her life and her son to Nashville. She said she wants her 3-year-old to grow up "somewhere normal."

Wood was born and raised in North Carolina, which meant she grew up in a traditional Southern household. She moved to L.A. in her teens for work but she's now setting roots for her son in Tennessee for that traditional upbringing.

"L.A. is wonderful, and it has given me so many amazing things, but I've also got a lot of demons here," the actress told Elle Canada. "[My son's] got two actor parents and I was like, 'You don't need to live in L.A. full-time. Let's go somewhere a little 'normal' for a bit.'"

Wood described her son as a "gypsy by proxy" because of who his parents are. Wood married actor Jamie Bell in 2012 but they divorced in 2014, while their son was barely a year old.

"My ex-husband is lovely and very British and straightedge," the actress said. Then she added, "Then [my son's] got this glam-rock weirdo for a mom."

Wood said she's learning a lot from her 3-year-old boy. One of the most profound things Wood picked up from her son was when he claimed, "I'm not weird. I'm playing." The actress said this was going to be her motto in life from now on.

Meanwhile, Wood got engaged to Zach Villa in January, People reported. Villa is her co-member in the electropop band Rebel and a Basketcase. The actress, however, told Elle they have not made wedding preparations and would probably be engaged for a while.

Bell, on the other hand, is set to marry "House of Cards" actress Kate Mara. They have not announced the wedding date but preparations are underway. Mara already picked out her wedding dress, as per Just Jared.
