'Westworld' Season 1 Finale Details: Evan Rachel Wood Confirms Episode Extension, Talks Sexual Abuse In Show & Real Life

"Westworld" actress Evan Rachel Wood has confirmed that the season finale, which airs on Sunday, Dec. 4, will be extended. The actress also opens up about the sexual abuse in the show and her personal experience about being a victim of rape.

On her Twitter, Evan Rachel Wood posted that the last episode of the season will be 90 minutes long. But viewers need not fret as it won't be the last of the show. "Westworld" has already been renewed by HBO for another 10 episodes for Season 2.

The show, however, isn't expected to be back in the cable network until 2018, according to The Hollywood Reporter. HBO president Casey Bloys said that because it is such a big production, it will take some time to finish another season. The network is open to "Westworld" taking its time though as it considers the show part of an "important building block."

Meanwhile, it's no secret that "Westworld" has been criticized for its content. It has violence, brutality, total nudity and rape.

Evan Rachel Wood recently opened up that she experienced rape twice in her life and says that recent events that on hate crimes against race and sexuality have touched a nerve for her. "I think I was taken advantage of because someone knew there was something about me that they could exploit," the actress, who also admitted to being bisexual, said, according to Fox News.

But she defends that the sexual abuse depicted in the series is different for her because the scenes are not actually shown. "The show is definitely a commentary on that," she said, People reports. "When you're using them to create something else, it almost gives them a purpose and feels like none of it was in vain," she added.
