‘Sons of Anarchy’ Prequel Confirmed: Charlie Hunnam Leaves ‘Pacific Rim 2’ for FX Series?

The "Sons of Anarchy" prequel is still on, as series creator Kurt Sutter confirmed the show's return on the small screens along with several plot details. While fans are expecting to hear more news and updates about the FX series, rumors are rife that Charlie Hunnam may be leaving his role in "Pacific Rim 2" for the show.

The cast and crew of "Sons of Anarchy" will be gathering together on May 27 to 29 for the Memorial Day Weekend. Many fans are expecting to hear news and updates about the upcoming prequel during the said event, including information on Charlie Hunnam and Brad Pitt's participation in the series.

The "Sons of Anarchy" prequel will be titled "The First 9," which is said to focus on John Teller and Piney and how the SAMCRO was established, Ecumenical News reported.

Brad Pitt is being poised to play the role of John Teller while many fans are hoping to see Charlie Hunnam reprise his role as bad-boy biker Jax Teller. While it remains to be seen whether these two actors will be playing a role in the "SOA" prequel, rumors claim that Hunnam is leaving his role in the "Pacific Rim" sequel.

According to the Inquisitr, Hunnam seemed unsure of his participation in "Pacific Rim 2" because he wanted the movie to focus on storytelling and character development.

"I think world creation and monster creation and all of that stuff is exciting as a secondary element of storytelling. When it becomes more important than storytelling, I get very nervous, and you sort of lose me a little bit," Hunnam said.

This came as great news to fans and viewers of the FX series since Hunnam's possible departure from "Pacific Rim 2" would mean he would have more time for the "SOA" prequel.
