With pop princess Britney Spears as her sister, former Nickelodeon star Jamie Lynn Spears is no stranger to the glitz and glam of the entertainment industry even at a very young age. In fact, she also tried her luck in the crazy world of showbiz when Nickelodeon offered her to star on shows like "All That" and "Zoey 101."

Jamie Lynn Spears' pursuit of stardom, however, was cut short after she discovered she was pregnant in a BP gas station bathroom in Kentwood, Louisiana. Jamie Lynn's pregnancy test came after a friend of hers noticed that she had been sick since her return from filming "Zoey 101" in Los Angeles. At that time, Jamie Lynn Spears was only 16.

"We decided to get our friend to go and buy a pregnancy test," Spears said, as per Daily Mail. "We stopped to get gas and she was like 'Just go and take the test real quick.' We didn't want to do it at home, so I went in the BP and I took a pregnancy test. I sat on the thing and we were sat there looking and my friend looks down and she freaks out and I was like 'What? What? What?' and the test was positive and I was pregnant. So I got the news in the ladies room at the BP, that about sums it all up."

In her new TV reality special titled, "Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out," 25-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears emotionally admitted that her "world came crashing down" when she found out she was pregnant. She also revealed that she had a hard time figuring out what to do but stressed that she never thought of not keeping the baby.

Jamie Lynn Spears also candidly admitted that she didn't break the pregnancy news to her parents instead, she wrote her mom a note. Unfortunately, Jamie Lynn's dad didn't take the news well, Huffington Post notes.

After the news of her teen pregnancy broke out, Jamie Lynn Spears went into hiding for three weeks. She was accompanied by two security guards since pregnancy became a scandal at the time.

As she reflected back to the time that her pregnancy pushed her to grow up, Jamie Lynn Spears revealed why she chose to become a single mom. She said that her baby daddy, Casey Aldridge, whom she met when she was 14 at the church, tried to do the right thing and offered her a marriage proposal.

Unfortunately, things didn't work out for the couple, in which Jamie Lynn Spears explained that she realized marriage should not be rushed. Despite the not-so-happy ending, Spears and Aldridge maintain an amicable relationship to co-parent their 8-year-old daughter, Maddy, Us Weekly reports.

Despite being dubbed as a teenage mom at 16, Jamie Lynn Spears is all set to reinvent her career. In fact, she is currently working on her country music career. She also had found love again with businessman husband Jamie Watson, whom she married in 2014, Hollywood Life learns.
