‘Death Stranding’ To Be An Action Game With Open World, Online Elements

Hideo Kojima, the developer of the upcoming game, "Death Stranding" shared some details about the title and the logo. He also explained the theme of the game during his keynote presentation at Sony PlayStation's pre-Tokyo Game Show.

As reported by GameSpot, Kojima explained that the trails shown beneath the mysterious game's log are cords, not dripping ink or liquid. Those cords represent the theme of the game, which is that people are connected by strands, which also explains the title, "Death Stranding."

As to the game itself, Kojima said that "Death Stranding" is designed to be in the action genre, with open world and online elements.

"Death Stranding," which was first announced at this year's E3, will be released on PlayStation 4 and will also support the 4K resolution and HDR features, in anticipation of the upcoming PlayStation 4 Pro console to be released in November. Kojima is expected to give more information about his game "Death Stranding" when he appeared at Tokyo Game Show on Sunday, Sept. 18.

During Sony's Tokyo Game Show press conference, Kojima also teased about his collaborators on the game. As reported by International Business Times, a doodle appeared on the screen while Kojima was explaining the title and the logo of "Death Stranding." It shows the game's star Norman Reedus on the left and Kojima on the right, but there were two other guys. One of them is clearly director Guillermo del Toro ("Pacific Rim" and "Pan's Labyrinth") while the other one looks like Mads Mikkelsen, who was already rumored to be part of Kojima's new game based on social media posts.

"In Death Stranding ... I am to offer a new game where players are connected by a strand or rope-like element," Kojima said. "Of course, clubs will still be used in battle but at the end of the day I want to offer an action game where people are connected by different elements."
