Anne Hathaway Reveals Lying About Her Pregnancy & Looking Forward To Working With Other Hollywood Moms On 'Ocean's Eight'

Anne Hathaway tried her best to keep her first pregnancy on the down low. The "Colossal" actress admitted she lied about her condition a lot, but explained that she only had to do it to protect her unborn.

"I am a boxing-out mama bear," said the actress while talking to Entertainment Weekly. She didn't think that keeping her pregnancy private constituted a lie. "It was like, 'No, I am protecting.'"

The actress, however, couldn't hide her pregnancy completely while working on the set of "Colossal." Anne Hathaway revealed that in one fight scene, the actress fell on her stomach hard, the cast and crew apparently "freaked out," as per Celebrity Babies.

Fortunately, Anne Hathaway's baby was unharmed and the Oscar-winning actress, together with husband Adam Schulman, welcomed son Jonathan in late March. The new mom describes her first born as an "easy baby" who is the light of her life, according to Us Weekly.  She also believes that being a mom has helped her be a better actress because she became more in touch with her emotions, especially while she was pregnant.

Back in 2013, the "Les Miserables" star expressed how much she wanted to become a mom in an interview with Vogue. Admitting that she was looking forward to motherhood, she professed that she would be the kind of mom who would love her kids "fiercely."

With Jonathan now six months old, Anne Hathaway is all set to go back to work and will be doing "Ocean's Eight" as her comeback movie post-pregnancy. The star said she's eager to work in this new film because she will be surrounded by actresses who are parents just like her.

"Ocean's Eight" also stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham Carter. Anne Hathaway is already imagining what it would be like in the makeup room or on their trailers with them. "I get to work with women who have done it before and I get to ask them questions about [parenting]," the actress said, via CBS 8.
