‘Frequency’ Spoilers: Raimy Investigates Father’s Death, How Will Raimy’s Search For Truth Change The Future?

"Frequency," the new TV series from CW based on the 2000 film of the same name is expected to debut on Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. Fans of the film, however, may need to set their expectations as "Frequency" main show players on CW quite differ from the original movie.

"Frequency" on CW casts "Mad Men" star Peyton List who gives life to the character of Raimy Sullivan, an NYPD Detective. She apparently believes that her father, Frank Sullivan, the character portrayed by Riley Smith, died because of a twisted negotiation that did not turn well, Daily News reported.

"Frequency" is suggested to follow Raimy's search for the truth about her father's death. Raimy's father died in 1996 but one day, when a storm struck her town, she was able to talk to her father in the present time using Frank's old ham radio. She then discovered later on that she was talking to Frank from 20 years ago who revealed to her that the story behind his death could not be true.

By this time, viewers now have an idea on how the storyline of "Frequency" will continue. The characters, however, are different from the original movie where the protagonist is a man named John Sullivan which was played by actor Jim Caviezel.

"Frequency" on CW also sees Raimy soon to be engaged with her boyfriend whereas in the movie, John was left by his girlfriend at the beginning, Hollywood Reporter reported. Another difference that is evident is Frank's relationship with his wife. In the movie, Frank and Julia Sullivan (Elizabeth Mitchell) were happily married while "Frequency" on CW sees Frank split up with his wife Julia who is now portrayed by actress Devin Kelley.

"Frequency," however, is still in line with the original movie's plot. It is not new for TV networks to adopt the storyline of famous movies and change some elements to allow the story to progress. This may be the reason why CW has changed some character relationships in the show.
