The investigation was passed to the Federal Bureau Investigation (FBI) after the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services conducted an initial investigation on reports that "Allied" star Brad Pitt allegedly raised a hand on his 15-year-old son Maddox during a flight from Europe, according to TMZ.

But according to a source, there was never an investigation to begin with! Simply put, there was never an inquiry, but just "fact-gathering." Brad Pitt has been the receiving end of numerous attacks online and in newspapers.

Some witnesses claim Brad Pitt never touched Maddox and there was no shouting that happened on the plane. Is this again the work of "Salt" actress Angelina Jolie's camp? Reports say that her team was behind the rumors spreading against Brad Pitt.

One of the rumors spread was Brad Pitt's uncontrollable smoking of weed. Another one is his alleged "love affair" with "Allied" co-star Marion Cotillard. Some people went too far and started saying that the "Inception" actress was pregnant with Brad Pitt's child.

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce days after arriving from Europe with her family. She cited "irreconcilable differences" and said that what she did was just to keep the family healthy.
