'Friday The 13th: The Game' Release Date Moved, But What Is The Good News?

It's a rather sad news for Jason Voorhees' avid fans. "Friday The 13th: The Game" release has been pushed to 2017 but on the brighter side: single-player mode!

Gun Media and IllFonic announced the great and sad news on Oct. 13, says Polygon. The highly anticipated, touted as the most violent video game ever, "Friday the 13th: The Game" will instead be making waves in 2017, most likely next summer.

Based on the time plan that "Friday The 13th: The Game" creators have released, much of the time in late 2016 will focus on the game's beta release, which is shareable for up to four other users. At early 2017, Jason Voorhees' fans may experience multiplayer release, including the latest character, Tommy Jarvis, and the third playable map, Packanack Lodge.

Now, on to the good news, "Friday The 13th: The Game" will be coming with the much-requested single-player mode. As reported by Parent Herald previously, "Friday The 13th: The Game" is initially a multiplayer-1 vs 7 survival game where players can go as the infamous psychopath, Jason Voorhees, or one of the Camp Crystal Lake counselors.

Gun Media also assured "Friday The 13th" fans that there will be more to expect, given the extended release of "Friday The 13th: The Game." These include AI-controlled bots as well as the aforementioned new counselor character and playable map.

"We want everyone to be assured that coming to our decision to delay was no easy matter, but we believe that the positives far outweigh the negatives," "Friday The 13th: The Game" co-creator Wes Keltner told in a statement. Further, the co-creator said that it may be disappointing that the release has been moved, but rest assured it can be something for the fans better enjoyment later on.

"Friday The 13th: The Game" was originally set for an October release. Maybe for its next release date, it can finally land to a date true to its name, given that October 2016 numbers were 7, 14, 21 and 28. Better check next year's calendars!
