Little Mix’s ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ Has Everyone In A Frenzy

Little Mix's new song "Shout Out To My Ex" from their upcoming fourth studio album entitled Glory Days has everyone in a frenzy. The controversial song, "Shout Out To My Ex", has everyone speculating about who the so-called "ex" is being called out in the song and to having another girl group saying Little Mix has copied their song.

Last Sunday on the latest season of "The X Factor U.K," girl group Little Mix's live performance of their lead single from their fourth album, "Shout Out To My Ex", has the crowd standing up and dancing with the girls. The anthem-like song has been dubbed 2016's newest revenge song but the group begs to differ.

Although part of the song is about calling out the "ex" for breaking hearts, the more important message of "Shout Out To My Ex", according to Little Mix, is about moving on with your life and becoming a better person in the process. Though this has not stopped everyone from speculating who the "ex" or rather if the "ex" in the song is former One Direction member, Zayn Malik.

In the beginning of "Shout Out To My Ex", Perrie Edwards sings "Took four long years to call it quits/Forget that boy, I'm over it". It's not a secret that Edwards and Malik had a four-year relationship together. The Little Mix member recently confirmed through a leaked excerpt of their book, One World, that the former One Direction member, ended things through a text. However, Zayn Malik has vehemently denied this during his interview with The Fader Magazine.

The controversy regarding "Shout Out To My Ex" does not stop there. Another girl group, G.R.L, is calling out Little Mix for copying a song of theirs entitled Ugly Heart. Members of G.R.L has started the hashtag #ShoutOutToMyUglyHeart. Both "Ugly Heart" and "Shout Out To My Ex" has similar melody and rhythm and also talks about one's former partner.

Every one of these issues has not stopped "Shout Out To My Ex" from topping the music charts worldwide.
