Clayton Kershaw Rest Needed in Game 5 [VIDEO]

LOS ANGELES - already considered a "workhorse" in this post season, the deception pitcher Clayton Kershaw star pitcher could go with a heavy workload for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS National League.

According to ESPN, when asked about the possibility that Kershaw open Game 5 of the ALCS, Dave Roberts, manager of Dodgers, said he just wanted to concentrate on Tuesday night for Game 3, but admitted that it is not ruled out that Kershaw throw in Game 5, with three rest days under certain circumstances.

If the Dodgers and Chicago Cubs split the next two games at Dodger Stadium, leaving the series tied at two wins, Roberts said the appearance of Kershaw in Game 5 is less likely. But if the Dodgers win the next two and are about to move, or if the Cubs win the next two and the Dodgers are on the verge of elimination, then anything is possible with the rotation.

Another decisive in the future on Kershaw factor would have to do the work of relievers in the next two games. Kershaw pitched on short rest in Game 4 of the AL Division Series National League, when the Dodgers were facing elimination against the Nationals.

"That's why there's nothing definitive because there are many variables," Roberts said. "In Game 4 of the division series he was facing elimination and that was why we use instead Kersh July So that's not so easy to make the decision now."

Los Angeles Time stated that Maeda would be pitching in Game 5 on four days of rest, a situation the Dodgers tried to avoid in the second half of the season. In 13 starts on four days' rest during the regular season, Maeda maintained a 3.97 ERA. In 19 starts after five days or more to rest, Maeda's ERA was 3.16. He gave up three runs in four innings against the Cubs in Game 1.

If you are not asked to Kershaw start Game 5 on Thursday, it is expected to open Kenta Maeda, but the right Dodgers rookie has not been effective in his last work.
