'Narcos' Season 3 and 4 Confirmed; 'El Chapo' To Be Next In Line After The Cali Cartel's Defeat

"Narcos" season 2 ended with such tragedy that fans were a bit anxious thinking that the series would no longer have a succeeding season. Viewers were then excited upon knowing that "Narcos" is already renewed for two more seasons wherein season 3 would air by late 2017.

"Narcos" season 2 left fans hanging as Pablo Escobar's death as finally was revealed. Though Escobar may no longer be part of the third season, his death, however, paved way for the rise of the Cali Cartel. Parent Herald previously reported that Pablo Escobar's death didn't end the drug war, as it paved way for the Cali Cartel to fit into the storyline.

Note: The "Narcos" possible plotline is just the speculation of the writer basing on the rise of the Cali Cartel after Pablo Escobar's time on the second season of "Narcos." Be aware that some of the spoilers for season and 4 can possibly be found within this article's content.

The Cali Cartel, led by Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela, his brother Miguel Orejuela and Paulo Herrera took over the Medellin Cartel as they smuggled their own cocaine products in Colombia. The Cali Cartel made it big but was eventually put down by the CIA and Jorge Salcedo. The end of Cali Cartel could possibly pave way for the introduction of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman.

During his interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Eric Newman opened up to the possibilities of adding "El Chapo" on the "Narcos" series. Newman did not close his doors for the possibilities of having "El Chapo's" storyline on the succeeding seasons of "Narcos." Basing on the Colombian drug cartel's timeline, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman's story will possibly be reveal in the 4th season of "Narcos."

"That's funny. It depends on where we start in the Mexican timeline," Eric Newman told The Hollywood Reporter. "Chapo was there at the beginning, in a way. He was one of the younger guys in the Guadalajara cartel before it splintered and he and another guy were given Sinaloa as a territory. In our timeline currently, that's already happened because that was in 1985. So it depends on. If we take our time, it could take a while. If we jump right into it, it could be really soon."
