J.K Rowling’s ‘Cormoran Strike’ Series Based On Her Novels Gets Picked Up By HBO

J.K Rowling's "Cormoran Strike" series based on her novels has its U.S and Canadian rights acquired by HBO. Back in 2015, HBO has also acquired the rights for J.K Rowling's "Casual Vacancy" novel-turned-TV-adaptation.

J.K Rowling's "Cormoran Strike" series is based on her novels of the same name. She has written the novels under the pen name, Robert Galbraith. Currently, there are three best-selling novels in the series with a fourth one coming this 2017.

The adaptation of J.K Rowling's "Cormoran Strike" novels will consist of three dramas. The first drama based on the first book, "The Cuckoo's Calling", will be cut into three parts. "The Silkworm" and "Career of Evil", the second and third novels respectively, will have a two-part adaptation each. Actor Tom Burke (The Musketeers) will play the main character, Cormoran Strike.

BBC One first announced J.K Rowling's "Cormoran Strike" series in fall of 2015. Filming will begin mid-November this year mostly taking place in London. J.K Rowling through Bronte Film & TV will be the executive producer of the series. Other executive producers of the series are Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts and Elizabeth Kilgarriff

The "Cormoran Strike" novels are about Cormoran Strike, a war veteran-turned-private investigator, along with his sharp-minded female assistant Robin, who investigates crimes that have stumped the police. Cormoran Strike's unique insight into these shocking cases is the key to solving the crimes. The novels are published by Little Brown and have sold over four million copies worldwide.

J.K Rowling's "Cormoran Strike" series will be along the slew of offerings the popular author has in store for her fans. J.K Rowling's first installment of "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" film series will be in theaters this coming November 17.
