‘Pokemon Go’ PokeWhere, FastPokeMap News, Updates: PokeWhere Servers Down Temporarily, FastPokeMap Permanently Shuts Down?

"Pokemon Go" real time radar called PokeWhere is again nowhere to be found as other third party sites have been scraping its data. In a tweet from PokeWhere official Twitter account, it has been revealed that the site was temporarily taken down until further announcement. That said, "Pokemon Go" players are again left with no reliable Pokemon tracker especially that FastPokeMap seems to be permanently terminated this time.

"Pokemon Go's" PokeWhere is apparently shut down after being released on Oct. 23. Just like FastPokeMap and other third party scanners, PokeWhere was affected by Niantic's security update that was launched earlier in October. Though PokeWhere developer was able to bring it back up for a couple of days, the "Pokemon Go" live radar struggled to keep going because of heavy loads from third party apps, reportedly.

"Pokemon Go" players may be appeased by this once again as playing the game without assistance from Pokemon trackers could be time consuming and difficult. PokeWhere is one huge help in identifying the location of "Pokemon Go" creatures within the vicinity of the player, MobiPicker reported. The app is also accessible to Android and iOS devices, making it a go to live radar for "Pokemon Go" players.

Meanwhile, Pokewhere shares the same faith with FastPokeMap which was taken down by its developer, Parent Herald reported. FastPokeMap returned after the FPM developer found a way to pass through "Pokemon Go's" servers but it fell victim to DDos attacks. Additionally, its data was also scraped and its source codes were leaked.

Because of this, the FPM developer apparently gave up on cracking "Pokemon Go" servers and no longer intend to turn it back up. He purportedly left the "Pokemon Go" developer community after revealing the secret API source codes of "Pokemon Go." That said, though FastPokeMap may no longer return, other third party scanners can pop up as developers can use the information to make their scanners work again.

"Pokemon Go" players reportedly dislike Niantic's campaign in taking down third-party scanners as the game still does not have a usable Pokemon tracker of its own. It can be possible that players may stop patronizing such apps if Niantic Labs will finally release a real Pokemon tracker. In the meantime, check out how PokeWhere identifies Pokemon location in the video below.
