Samsung Galaxy S8 AI Rivals Apple's Siri, Windows' Cortana? Bixby Is The New Queen Of Smartphone Artificial Intelligence?

Samsung Galaxy S8 is bringing the answer to Apple AI assistant Siri and Windows' Cortana with its own smartphone Artificial Intelligence assistant, Bixby. While Samsung seems intent on impressing with the Galaxy S8 specs, its new AI Bixby is also getting its own following.

Slash Gear reports that the clue on the Samsung Galaxy S8 AI was discovered by SamMobile. Trademark filings by Samsung in South Korea cites the name Bixby.

The Samsung trademark Bixby is intended to reference software purposed to manage personal information. As Slash Gear reports, if the trademark pertains to the new Samsung Galaxy S8 AI, Bixby will debut in 2017.

The media outlet points out that Samsung going into the AI assistance arena is fitting given recent acquisition by the South Korean company of the AI platform Viv. Viv comes from the same creators from whom Apple acquired Siri.

One wonders if perhaps the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8 AI will rightly eclipse any new hardware innovation in the series. Will Samsung Galaxy S8 AI Bixby perhaps partially or fully utilize the technological offerings of Viv?

As Parent Herald reports Viv has truly upped the game in the arena of smartphone AI assistance. Viv connects a smartphone user to numerous companies and gets tasks done all by voice command.

If AI Bixby is anyway linked to Viv, Samsung may yet recover flawlessly from the recent flurry of bad publicity brought on by the Galaxy Note 7. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 proved a bad egg of sorts having been involved in various safety issues.

Perhaps Samsung Galaxy S8 AI Bixby will impress enough to even erase the memory of Rockstar video game "GTA 5" featuring a mod where the Galaxy Note 7 was used as an explosive. Improved hardware specs and AI Bixby combined should secure for the Galaxy S8 a truly prominent place in the market.

Bixby will be the first AI to be integrated into the Samsung Galaxy series or any Samsung mobile device for that matter. Are you ready to try out AI Bixby when Samsung Galaxy S8 is released?
