NBA Star Ray Allen News: Career Change For The 3-Point Shooter After Retirement; Going Long-Distance Running Pro?

After his retirement, NBA star Ray Allen who was one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA history is still keeping his body in a great shape. Ray Allen had been long-distance running since he left NBA, and recently, he is planning to go pro.

According to USA Today, NBA star Ray Allen said in an interview that the minimum distance that he runs each day is 21/2 miles. Meanwhile, during weekends, he runs at 10 miles and goes up to sometimes 16 miles. Even on the day of the interview, NBA star Ray Allen said that he planned to run 20 miles the following day.

Allen further said that NBA star Ray Allen wants to run a marathon in the immediate future. Somehow, he wants to enter the ironman competition. He has been cycling in a long distance. The only thing he said that he has to work on is the swimming part, because he never did a long distance swimming like that in ironman.

On Cue Sports reported that NBA star Ray Allen is also playing golf, which is owned by his wife at an organic restaurant in South Florida. Allen also had been attending his children's sporting events and playing in the occasional pickup basketball game with former pros. Besides his intense activities, Ray Allen had been maintaining a pure diet and sometimes indulging infrequently in a gluten-free pizza when he needs to burn extra calories.

Everytime Allen was asked about the reason for his retirement, he simply explained it was a combination of factors of the playing offer, the playing time, and the ability to help a team compete for a championship. Another factor was playing for a coach who didn't think about players grinding practices and family considerations.

He further explained that if he going to play, he will have to move and leave his family or move his family. And he didn't feel that he wants to do that.

NBA star Ray Allen spent over 18 seasons in the NBA league with Milwaukee, Seattle, the Celtics, and the Heat. His averaging point is 18.9 in 1,300 regular-season games and appearing in 10 All-Star Games.
