Donald Trump 'Likes' Several Obamacare Aspects; Considers Retaining Affordable Care Act

The future of Obamacare, otherwise known as Affordable Care Act, is in its darkest as President-elect, Donald Trump, has a looming plan to replace, or worst, eliminate the healthcare system. At the very least, the legacy of the former president of the United States, Barack Obama, might undergo various amendments as business mogul has other plans for the U.S. government's healthcare aid.

Donald Trump and the Republicans initially want Obamacare to be abolished. The procedures of obliterating the law are already laid out; however, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell declined to elaborate on it, as per The Washington Post.

During the first Presidential debate in February, Donald Trump also openly expressed his plans of repealing the law. But days ago, the president-elect said that he likes several clauses in the Affordable Care Act.

In a twist of events, after Donald Trump had a conversation with the former POTUS, Obama, the assumptive U.S. president announced that he might not consider repealing the law anymore. Instead, he will amend aspects of Obamacare or replace it with another healthcare system.

Per NBC, Donald Trump is considering to retain kids' healthcare aid to stay on their parents' insurance policies. The business magnate also said that he likes to maintain the clause that prohibits insurance holders with pre-existing conditions to be denied with healthcare coverage.

The Independent also reports that Donald Trump said that he wants to explore Barack Obama's suggestions of maintaining Affordable Care Act "out of respect." The former POTUS was also reported to be "encouraged" of Donald Trump's keenness to work with his team as Barack Obama wants him to succeed in his responsibilities so as the country will succeed as well.

According to The Atlantic, the United States has one of the most expensive healthcare services around the world and it still needed to be improved. Although others see Donald Trump's hostile view of Obamacare as an endangerment to the U.S. citizens' health, others believe that it's about time that Obamacare should be repealed. For them, Affordable Care Act enabled insurance companies to compete and build a market "that tells you what you have to buy."
