'Supergirl' Season 2 Spoilers & Cast News: Alex Danvers Is Batwoman? Get The Details!

Will "Supergirl" on The CW introduce Batwoman soon? The show seems to hint at the possibility. Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh), Kara Danvers/Supergirl's (Melissa Benoist) adoptive sister, seems like the strong choice for Batwoman. But how will her introduction play out on "Supergirl"?

Alex Danvers has tons of similarities with Batwoman in physicality, personality and characterization, according to Movie Pilot. But in the DC Comic series, Batwoman's alter ego is Katy Kane yet she looks and dresses similarly as Alex Danvers on "Supergirl."

Katy Kane is also an LGBT character in the comics who works as detective. On "Supergirl," government agent Alex Danvers has professed that she likes women as well.

It also did not escape the observations of fans that "Supergirl" has already established the presence of Gotham City and its crusaders in its episodes. For instance, the city's existence was hinted while Superman visited Supergirl's National City in "Supergirl" Episode 1 and 2, as shown in the video below.

Cinema Blend also cites that "Supergirl" also talked about the existence of Batman in its most recent episode without actually saying the superhero's name. She talked about her cousin working with a "vigilante" with "tons of gadgets."

The DC Universe on television has always tested the limitations and boundaries by merging different superhero worlds based on the comic book series. The latest attempt is the four-way crossover event among "Supergirl," "The Flash," "Arrow" and "Legend of Tomorrow," as reported on Parent Herald. Hence, it is not farfetched that Batwoman could also appear on "Supergirl" simply because it can happen in TV world with the writers' imagination.

Given these simple deductions, it looks like the groundwork has already been laid out for Batwoman's entry on "Supergirl" by highlighting the transformation of Alex Danvers. All that's lacking is for the show to make it explicit and give Alex Danvers her Batwoman alter ego.

Tune in to this site for the latest on "Supergirl." The show airs every Mondays at 8:00 p.m. on The CW.
