‘The Dawning’ Of ‘Destiny’, Starts on December 13 With A Lot Of Surprises

"Destiny's" holiday event is going to be huge like the game itself. Here are the details.

The Dawning is the name of "Destiny's" holiday event which will start on December 13, 2016, and will end on January 3, 2017. The Dawning will bring back the infamous Sparrow Racing League equipped with new tracks and new gears, the Sparrow Racing League will remain as a playable option in private matches after the event.

The Dawning will also feature a remix version of existing Siva version of strikes, "The Nexus," "The Will of Crota," and "The Shadow Thief." The score-attack for the SIVA strike playlist is going to be attached to rewards and bounties and three additional exotic weapons are also going to be added to the game's arsenal which is the Voidlord and Solarlord classified as heavy machine guns together with a year three Ice Breaker. There's also going to be tower gift-giving quests and tower decorations, based on an article by GamesRadar.

"Destiny" is Bungie's second and most expensive game to develop with a budget of $500 million which the company decline's to admit. "Destiny" was initially released for thePS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. "Destiny" was one of the most anticipated games in 2014, the game promised to bring "an entirely new graphics engine and a fully featured world builder that gives out artists more expressive power than they've ever had before," according to an article by Video Gamer in 2014.

"Destiny's" sales and reception and sales cannot compete with Bungie's "Halo" series. Ben Kuchera of Polygon wrote: "Destiny, at launch, is kind of a wreck. It's a series of underwhelming systems and processes tied together by a completely un-engaging story" but on the bright side, Ben also mentioned how he became hooked with "Destiny." The storyline may have been criticized due to its disjointed narratives and shallow plot implementation but the game's core combat system and bounty system works really well combined with one of the most polished visuals makes "Destiny" stand out among the rest.
